The Artist
My name is Jill Campbell and I
live in Teesdale near the
Gaunless Valley, a beautiful part of the country which is characterised
by gentle rolling hills, drystone walls, farms and fields, dramatic
skies and
tough windswept trees.
Since moving to this area I have been inspired to take up painting
again and I will be starting a fine art degree course this year. Last
year I had a painting accepted in a national exhibition held at the
Patchings Exhibition in Nottingham and one in the annual Open
Art Exhibition held at Billingham Gallery.
I
usually paint with watercolour particularly because of the clear, fresh
colour it provides. I also love drawing and will sketch the countryside
scenes and animals around me. I have a blue merle border collie, a
siamese cat, chickens, ducks and guinea fowl and they are
often
my subject matter. My style is abstract which I think best captures the
personality of whatever I am painting. I aim to produce
affordable original art.
I take commissions and also sell my picures through a
local
gallery - Annie and Marcus Art based in Lynesack. Past commissions have
included hens, cockerels, dogs and local scenes. Please click on the
boxes below to see some of my work. I hope you enjoy my site.
